At yesterdays Dutch collectors meeting I got this (fully inert) Spanish 88mm M64 H.E. cartridge, used in the 88mm Flak 18, 36/37.
The shellcase is marked 88mm M64, Lot FNT 105, 1971.
The primer in the shellcase however is not of the German type, but more like the US type and is marked M55-A FAT, 5-69
The fuze is the PD (Point Detonating) M51A5, and is clearly of US design and is marked PD M51A5 , Los FNT-54-72
Looking at the cartridge, it occurs to be a mixture of German and US design.
I allready found out FNT stands for Fabrique National Toledo, however , according to the code book this factory used this code between 1928 and 1959.
Who can tell me more about this cartridge? I hope one of our Spanish members knows more.
Regards DJH
