Hi,

I've recently seen a couple of "British" smoke grenades advertised on eGun as produced for Dutch military service.

Sure enough, when I compared the L68 and L69 grenades which I bought from Lex, the markings are different from the standard British models.

Firstly, the "Dutch" markings are brown compared to the "British" markings in black...

... and secondly, the "Dutch" grenades are marked "GRENADE HAND COL SMOKE" whereas the "British" ones are marked "GRENADE HAND SIG SMOKE".

Can anyone confirm that the ones with brown markings were made for the Dutch army?

Thanks,

Gary

I'm not 100% sure but I did have some Dutch Nr series smoke grens a while ago, and those all had brown lettering on eau de nil green bodies, so I think you are on the right track with these.

Hi oktato,

The Dutch used indeed this type of smoke grenades with brown lettering, but according to their technical documentation (VS 9-850) they were also marked "SIG" instead "COL"
