Steel based, brass case. 75 x 229 R 91. What is it?

Good day all and a prosperous new year.

Have been asked to identify this brass case. What makes it unusual is that it has a steel base. There is a mark on the base which looks like a 4 cornered star within a circle.

Calibre: 75 mm

Case Length: 229 mm

Rim: 90.8 mm

That is the logo for the German company, "Rheinmetall"
