Has anyone seen a steel Bofors 40mm case American made. Was it used for drill or dummy use or were these used for normal HE.

Normal HE and shortened ones for blanks. I've seen rusty ones and Cadmium coated ones.

I have owned several WW2 US cases: MK3 navy and M25B1 army. Also seen several post war.

I had a few laquered steel cases dated from 51-55. American made, ink coded for AP rounds ( UC and UD). I just gave my last one away. A large Army surplus store in Ft Worth had a few crate fulls last year ( forgot their name, but it should pull up on a web search ) I posted a pic I found.image.jpeg
