long time no post, just wondering if any of you can ID this piece i picked up on the Chemin des Dames, wasnt sure what it was, its small but I am curious

From what I can see of it,it looks like a type of nail used in horseshoes to give the horse grip on ice,I could be wrong but I have seen similar in blacksmiths shops in the past,
