Swedish 74mm studded grenades

Bjorn

Active Member
Two chromed studded projectiles for front loaded guns. I guess mid eighteen hundreds.
164mm in height and they both have a total of six studs in two sections.
One is faintly marked on the bottom. Can’t really make out what though. E B ?

Anyone has seen any like these before ?

Cheers

Better late than never: I'd guess the letters are F.B as, at that time, Finspong (alt. spelling Finspång) Styckebruk - Finspong Gun Foundry- was a major suplier of ordnance to the Swedish crown. Anyone who visited the link may wonder how a 2.58" shell is listed as 8cm. At the time Sweden used the decimal inch which was 29.69 mm. Thus 2.58 decimal inch is 76.6 mm. The model 1863 guns came in three calibers: 10 cm, 8 cm and 7 cm.
