Hi all

Please see pic of three Swiss 25mm tracer Projectiles (2,3and 4) I have, in the photo I take it projectiles 2 and 3 are manufactured for the top round 25x137 KBA and projectile 4 again was this manufactured for the bottom round 25x184, if anyone has any further info on the Tracer projectiles then that would be appreciated.

thanks in advance

Womble

The longer projectiles could be for the KBB, but there is another possibility: the KBC, which used the same cartridge case as the KBA but with a longer and heavier projectile..

Another extract...:

In the late 1970s a non-compliant loading was developed for the experimental Oerlikon KBC aircraft revolver cannon. This utilised a longer, heavier and more aerodynamic projectile which increased the overall cartridge length to 244 mm. Projectile weight was 230 g and muzzle velocity 1,000 m/s from the 90 g propellant load. TP, HEI and SAPHEI loadings were proposed, but the gun did not go into production.

Tony thank you for the post and pic, does he have any details of the tracers used on these projectiles.

Cheers
