It's several decades since I last went to Bovington.... must get there again!
I agree, for keen ammo collectors the ammo displays aren't too good, either limited to a single round next to some of the tanks or clamped to some of the barrel displays. They do have a wonderful room out of sight from the public that I was fortunate to see years ago that has all sorts of nice ammo items which would be great if displayed.

Bovington is better than Saumur, in my opinion.
When I went to Saumur earlier this year, I thought it was quite grotty inside, definitely needed a clean up.
The Tanks were superb, but the place looked "tired" with a clear lack of investment.
Bovington on the other hand, is nice and clean and up to date.
Saumur is well worth a visit, but considering the exhibits they have, the actual Museum was a bit of a let down.
