Hello all,
It took me some time to get a studio time and photograph these items.
All were found in an archeological survey near the city of Beit Shemesh, Israel.

1. A pistol cartridge. What i can read is EGESTOR F 442.
Its base diameter is 12.5mm and its length is 18.1mm.

2. A bullet with diameter of 10.6mm and 15.5mm length.

3. i can tell the gauge and the manufacturer but is there a way to know the year?

Thank you for your help.

The first fired case appears to be a commercial .442 revolver round, made by G.Egestorff, Linden, Germany. Could have been brought to the Bet Shemesh azor by an Ottoman officer.
What is the weight of the fired lead bullet?

Thank you Jonny,
It's hard to tell how it got there, it might be also from a local Arab who looted a battlefield or bought the revolver on the free market.
I wish i had more items from the area to get a clearer picture.

If i remember correctly .442 is also used with the Webly revolver.

The weight of the bullet is 13gr.
Thanks again
Assaf
