Thunderflashes

Anyone can purchase/possess a thunderflash. This particular seller is just being responsible - thats why we use him.

Thanks for the photo tertiten2.
A question for you - Are the words "Hold Her" Norwegian for "Hold here" or does your Thunderflash have a printing error on it?

Hi there, very interesting thread.

The M/66 is the Danish equivalent. It is a very powerful thunder flash containing 25 gram flash powder.

What is the difference between the #5 and #8 regarding to the British thunder flashes?
And what does it mean when its described as a Diver Recall?

Years ago we had a Navy diver killed because he was too close to an M/66 so it is nothing to fool around with.

Diver Recall

The diver recall is used to signal divers underwater, functionally it is the same as a Thunderflash, however the hollow portion of the handle is filled with an iron grit or inert ballast to allow it to sink in the water.

Since I have not served with the navy, I am not sure of the specific conditions under which it would be used.

Nice job Allan,
not sure how you would get on with it's blue and white replacement:tinysmile_fatgrin_t

Cheers
Tony

Anyone got a pic of the current issue brit one? I've used the Mk8s, but nothing since. All I see is the blue card remnents of the new ones l see lying around.

yes they are the ones,I have a feeling they will be replaced very soon! The red card igniter on these is a very weak point and often breaks off while striking without igniting the simulator :tinysmile_angry_t:
