Tool ID

A friend has asked if I can get an ID on an unusual piece. It looks like some form of crimping top and is sprung. It stands 14.5cm tall and the base is roughly 7cm across. It's possible that it fits into another tool or machine. The only markings are shown in the pictures. TIA

MB marking could it be for rolling over an edge to seal it like a tin can
