Torpedo Gyroscope ID needed

Any torpedo gyroscope experts out there? I've had this gyroscope for ages but I have never managed to work out what it is from? It would be good to know what exactly it is and whether it is indeed from a torpedo.

Nice bit of kit, shame it part of something that had to be destroyed.

Looks like a Mk VIII gyro as per the link - has been nicely "reworked" into a presentation desk model.
In the first photo appears to be a maker's name? "V T & G" - sorry not clear enough.

Incredible specimen. As a torpedo gyro collector, that's a nice one.
