Its not made from any Ordnance, (unless it was melted down) looks to be either zinc or Magnesium. It appears to be cast as the rear is quite rough, possibly made in the field?
It is marked "IN MEMORY OF 5 DLI WHO FELL IN FLANDERS 1915" the date is on either side, on the rear is scratched "I.M" I'm assuming 5 DLI relates to the Durham Light Infantry. Maker made a mistake with the "IN" word as the "N" has been stamped over an "M".
This was given to my Grandmother from her aunt who lived in Stockton on Tees in the late 1940's.
Quite poignant given the Centenary of WW1.
