I show two different 7 second detonator tins for the No 36 grenade Mk 111.
The early tin is a gold finish and has 3 detonators in the wooden block. Stamped 1942 on the alloy. They are No 27 aluminium dets with yellow fuze.
The label states Mark 111 LP which seems unusual. Is it for Land Pattern? Land usually is just (L) and not LP ?
Assembled at ME, Maribyrnong, Vic 1/42.
Tin is stamped on the bottom : V No 124 with CPP in a triangle . (Colton, Palmer & Preston, Adelaide, South Australia.
The later red tin is just Mark 111 and assembled in 9/50. Packed 5/52. I wonder when the red tins were introduced?
