Hi chaps

In Lt Col Eric Wakeling's autobiography, The Lonely War, he recalls defuzing a stick of 10 SC50s with (15) fuzes, apart from the last one, which, interestingly, had a (17) in it (but no Zus40).

Have you ever heard of a (17) in such a small bomb as an SC50? Could one fit in (the SC50 was 8 inches wide)? Has he recalled wrongly?

Cheers

Austin

not sure of the depth, but all ELAZ fuzes are the same diameter, so a 15 and 25 that is known to fit in SC50 and SD50 is same diameter as a 17.
I have a 17A and an SD50 will try it latter. (dont have a SC50)

Hi
Yes there was one account of a 17 fitted into an SC50,and it will fit but not with a Zus 40 attached.

Best phil
