Hi all,
this is the Japanese WW II type 88 instantaneous nose fuze, used in HE-projectiles for 47mm A/T-guns, 57mm tank guns, 75mm guns, 105mm guns and also for 75mm incendiary and smoke projectiles. The fuze for howitzers/mortars is identicalin construction, except having a weeker spring incorporated.
Enjoy the image.

One good one after another;

Hi Erhard,
Another beautiful sectioned speciman. Have you thought about photographing the reverse side and showing them side by side. What a great way to illustrate an I.D. manual.
Such fine detail and such clarity in your images.
Thank you.
Regards,
John aka Bart

Hi John,
I have of course the original fuzes too, unsectioned, and from all fuzes there exist high resolution images, which I can blow up (enlarge) to 20" to 15".
