Sorry my Naval knowledge is a bit slim but yes, the N43 'conducting composition cap electric (CC) primer' was used in the Cartridges, 4.5-inch, Mks N8 and N9 for the 4.5-inch Mk 4 and Mk 5 Gun. The cartridge for the 4.5-inch QF Mk 8 Gun used the N44 (CC) Primer.
 
Thanks for the info , this one has been racking my brain all week trying to find a shell case that still has the primer in or a picture of the same primer ,i got it from a ex service man who worked with ammunition from naval dockyard on the Firth of Forth at Rosyth,

also gave me a cut down i think was experimental 3" rapid fire but failed ...
