U.S. MK2s added to the collection

Got these in recently. A nice old cutback fuze w/short spoon and a fine desktop lighter. The ad pic is blatantly stolen from Lex's site, but I'll make up for it by sending him pics of the real thing to include next to the ad. Sadly, my example is missing the snuffer on the chain.

Hey Rick,

Nice find(s)! The cutback fuze era MK2's seem to be getting hard to find (and expensive) lately.

Stay safe,

Frank

Hey Rick, nice grenades you found, good green paint still intact on the grenade lighter....

The Samuel Kravitt Co. grenade lighter advertisement you stole from Lex's site is an add that I scanned and sent to Lex a couple years ago. It's an add from a mid 1950's "GUNS" magazine that I have in my collection. There is no need to make up for stealing the picture and sending him pics of your lighter, I forgive you  ....and besides...my Kravitt lighter that's complete with the chain and snuffer cap is already pictured along with the advertisement on the "Pineapple oddities" page on Lex's site in the US grenades section.
http://www.lexpev.nl/grenades/americas/unitedstates/pineappleoddities.html

There is also a pic on this "pineapple oddities" page of my "Buy WSS" (Buy war savings stamps) pineapple grenade bank. Lex and I thought it would be good to make this oddities page, and so far these are the only two commercially sold "oddities" made from real WW2 pineapple grenade bodies....at least that I have seen and know of. Hopefully some others "oddities" will show up sometime.

This Kravitt grenade lighter add that's in the back pages of the "GUNS" magazine, is among many other great old adds from the 50's... for instance the $14.95 Colt, Remington Rand, and Ithaca .45 1911A1's... the Winchester and Springfield M1 Garands for $30.95....M1 Carbines for $23.95.....$49.95 German MP-40 de-wats (with just a lead plug in the barrel).....$129.95 MG-42 & 34 de-wats and many other great surplus and old west guns for dirt cheap .... ahhhhhh the good old days here in the Mighty USA.
BTW slick, The Pics on Lex's site that say Photos Dr. Ruby.....that's me...... I'm "Dr.Ruby".....

P.S. If you don't know already, the diamond "L" on your Kravitt lighter indicates the grenade body was made by the "Littlestown Foundry" who made 1,200,000 grenade bodies during WW2, and many other ordnance items. All the Kravitt lighters I've seen are marked "diamond L" with a small I guess lot number or letter on the neck...yours looks to have a 1 on the neck and my example has a small letter C, and I've seen other numbers and letters as well.

Yeah, Steve posted faster than me, I always seen these L Diamond grenades coverted in lighters, it took me 3 years to find an original one, still as a grenade, I mean.

Steve

And thank you for posting that ad, originally. Gomin for not giving you your props. That was my reference when I bid on this one. It's the only one I'd seen come up for sale, so I got it, for the novelty that's in it. Got a few novelty 'nades and ordnance(thanks to Paul the G). I was very pleased to confirm it was an original body and not a toy.

Regards

Rick
