Good morning and thanks for accepting me to the group.
I work with the Gibraltar National Museum as an archaeologist, working on developments.

During work at Europa Point we came across a shell in the vicinity of three practice batteries constructed between 1900-1903. The plans for the batteries initially were for 5" guns, but it is believed that eventually there were 3" guns mounted.
I will upload a photograph but the dimensions are as follows:
Height of shell - 206mm
Diameter of the base - 98mm - There are no marks whatsoever on the base (Manufacturing, date, arrow or otherwise)
Diameter of the casing - 84.6mm

Could anyone please shed light on this? It would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark
