Under Water Shell?

skull181

Well-Known Member
Recovered from the sea bed by a Naval Diver, this shell has been brought up, totally inert.

Markings on the bottom are the Letter N, 1C and what looks like an F5?

15" tall by 3 & 3/4" diameter, too big for an 18 pounder shell case.

No idea of its age either.

Any help appreciated

Hello,
Shape of 4in common pointed (Navy), could be used as inert practice shell.
