To be more correct, its a "3,7cm Sprgr.Patr.18umg." - that's the meaning of the yellow ring and there are also other Fuzes possible than only the AZ 39.

It's a pity Andre is mistaken,Gordon,I was thinking that there's one a whole lot closer to you than the bottom of the North Sea!!!!!

Well the good news it that if the

Museum wants to complete it it will be much easier and they might have the bits on hand for all any one knows. Also more relevant to their collection than a Navy practice.

Quite so!!!! I did, just briefly, think it was strange that such a projectile should appear suddenly in Canada, when in recent days we've discussed just such a thing!!! As it turns out it didn't,so back to sleep for me!!!!

Did'nt get that now, but if anybody is interested I have some pics to show with a 3,7 Sprgr Patr 18 umg

Wow, very interesting. I have one of these fuzes dated 1937. Rhs.222. I got it in a 3,7 Flak 1939 shell. Are you sure that this fuze Kpf Z. Zerl P are used in PAKs too? Because in the pic of this German manual is pictured the AZ39.

Hello Miguel,
in the HDv481-73 dated 1938 there is this round - 3,7cm Sprgr.Patr. 18umg. mentioned and they give
3,7 cm Kpf.Z.Zerl.P
3,7 cm Kpf.Z.Zerl.P MP - with the Zerl.P dashed out
3,7 cm Kpf.Z.MP

Only found in the HDv481-51 3,7cm KWK additional pages dated 25.4.39 and they mention the AZ 39 for the 3,7 cm Sprgr.Patr. 18umg. KWK and for the 3,7 cm Sprgr.Patr.40 KWK

So I guess for the early Sprgr.Patr. 18umg. you need one of the 3 above mentioned fuzes and for the later than 1939 rounds the AZ 39
