Unidentified 75 mm long shell case

Hi Guys (I imagine we're all Guys)

I have what I suspect is a Japanese 75 mm shell case a little worse for wear. It is 495 cm long and 95 mm across the base. Base markings include 6 and (8 in a circle) and a 12 on the detonator in the base.

Can anyone help with identification?

Thanks for the kind welcomes.

G-Day Mate,

Sounds like you have the garden variety Japanese 75mm Type 88 anti aircraft gun cartridge case. A picture of it would positively ID it though.

Regards Ozzi.

Japanese markings

Hi,

The number 6 on the base casing stands for the month of June.

The number 12 on the detonator stands for the month of December.

The number 8 in a circle stands for the Japanese manufacturer "Nagoya Rikugun Zoheisho".

As Ozzi has suggested, if you decide to post a picture, could possibly identify a few more markings.

Cheers,

Invest
