Unknow Shell

It is a 76mm HVAP-T (Hypervelocity Armor Piercing). I've seen them manufactured by the U.S. and in Germany (yours is German). 1950's era for the M41 Walker Bulldog tank. It has an approxiately 1 inch diameter pointed piece of Tungsten Carbide in the center. Basically a very light full bore aluminum carrier with a tracer element in the rear, carrying the WC penetrator. It gets it extreme velocity due to its light weight, and when it hits armor, the aluminum carrier shatters and the WC penetrator continues through the target.

Normally, it would be painted black with white lettering. Someone polished all your paint off. It can't bee seen in your photo, but the tracer element could still be live.
