Unknown 20mm projectile body
At the last collectors meeting I bought this cutaway model of a 20mm projectile of which I thought it was meant for the 30x139B:
Three things occured to me on closer inspection:
-The red copper driving belt is quite wide: 6mm
-The transition element of the tracer self destruct element is screwed into the base of the explosives room.
-The thread for the nose fuze is not the normal M15x1, but M16x1.
Length of the projectile body is 70mm.
Length from base to driving band is 19,5mm.
Who can tell me more about this projectile? What weapon was it meant for? What country? What time period.
Does anybody have a drawing or description of the complete cartridge.
Thanks in advance,
Regards, DJH
