DEADLINE222
Well-Known Member
I have been through every TM and OP I have at my disposal and have came up empty handed.
My search placed emphasis on US Navy or German because of the dual rotating bands.
This projectile is armour piercing, ballistic capped.
It is boat tailed with a solid base. Heavily pitted with no markings I can see.
The two rotating bands made from copper with both having different shapes. They are solid and do not have under cuts like naval projectiles. No markings to be found.
I see no bourrelet, but it could be under the multiple coats of paint.
The projectile weighs 120 pounds.
It is 32 inches tall.
It is 6.8 inches in diameter, or 172mm.
