Does anybody recognize this 20 mm projectile? It measures 59,1 mm and it is 20.8 mm at the "driving band". It weighs 132 grammes.

I'm not sure if it is a real projectile, or a dummy that someone has turned out on a lathe. It doesn't have enough space below the rotating band to crimp into a case, and it doesn't have a crimping groove. It could possibly be for a folded case round, or the core of a larger APDS projectile.

Hi Kornel
I`m afraid I`m with Hazord on this one.
It looks to be one piece (drive band/body) but the nose is adifferent shade?Different/seperatemetal or paint?
Might be back in Bru in Sept by the way!

Nice one Tony- would explain the different material/colour tip and the band is for retaining it in the jaws.
Looks like kornel can add it to the scrap metal holding shed he has!!!
or ram it in a spare HS/Oer/Vulcan case & sell it anyway??

Thanks for the confirmation it is nothing special (like I expected). It will go to the scrap metal heap in my shed ;-).

should keep it as an example to show how non ordnance can be mistaken for ordnance

Well if it is a spot welder tip, why such a perfectly machined ogive?

Always impressed by the assembled minds here. Woulda never guessed a welding tip. It WOULD make for a nice fantasy round. This reminds me of the squeezebore/rock grinder bit "find".
And yea, why such a perfect tip for a spot-wleder? One zap and it's gone.
