Unknown 37mm Sub-cal

Hello all, I'm quite intrigued by a 37mm sub-cal round I've come across. I'd greatly appreciate any information you can provide, particularly about the cartridge caliber for the barrel insert, its country of origin, And the gun it was used in. Also, there are no visible markings.



The projectile would be 37mm.

The case would be 73mm.

The overall length is 130mm.

Rim diameter 43.75mm.

Chamber diameter 12.4mm.

Muzzle diameter 10.8mm.

The body is made of brass, and the barrel is steel.

Well it's a subcal for either a Hotchkiss Revolving gun or a single shot deck gun of the same calibre. The thing to find out
is what round fits inside. If it's U.S. it may be a 45/70 ? if I recall the longer 1pr heavy version. It's a very nice item.

Based on the given dimensions (73 mm long) it should be a US 1.457 inch sub caliber. Most likely dated WW1 or before.
