The seller is offering this as an early Russian 45mm AP round. It does not look like any Russian 45mm AP that I can reference. May I request your help in identifying this item?

It looks like a Russian 47mm Hotchkiss projectile. There was no 45mm in this era.
 
Yes, it is worth of buying. Over here we find often brass cases but shells are quite rare.
 
I will see if I can pick it up affordably. It is not something that I collect. I would offer to trade to someone in Europe, but something like this would have trouble making it past customs.

Yes I might. Can anyone post photos and measurements for the cartridge case?
 
The case is 47x376R. Sorry but I have no other dimensions ( just a few weeks ago I sold my spare case ). "Soviet Cannon" page 456 shows the cxase and projectile. There was also a 47x307R case.
