Unknown 4inch (?) shell.

Greetings all.
Can anyone please identify this shell?
The diameter of the base is about 101mm.
The length is 291mm.
It is solid and therefore quite heavy.
It looks wrong stuck in the larger 4inch cases in my collection.
The only discernable marking is W2 in a circle on the driving band.
I am supposing that it is rather old .
Thanks.
