Unknown 75mm Cartridge.

Any help inidentifying this cartridge would be appreciated. Measures 75 x 331 long (not sure if it's been cut down but there are no crimp marks), small percussion primer 11mm diameter, stepped rim with a 91mm diameter & slight taper along the length. Only headstamp details are at the 6 o'clock position: 'L' followed by a small triangle over a 3 pointed star, '46' and the triangle/star device again. No apparent markings on the primer. Hi Ian,I cannot identify your case but I have a similar 75mm case that has the same base rim shape (stepped rim,) it also has a small primer,about 11mm,my case is 350mm long,it has a small shoulder about 40mm from the neck,there is a slight crimp about 3mm down from the neck,my case is a French 75mm of 1911,base stamps are,75 DE C A PX 20L 11 S,the primer is stamped ECP 51 1911,Hope this is of some help to you,

Which is close to your measurements. I will try and attach photos. Stepped (or double) rim is similar.
For a Schneider-Canet field gun, perhaps. Please someone correct me if that is not so...
