It's a German WW2 1/2Kg aerial bomblet cluster munition . They were , apparently , also used as improvised grenades , mines & booby traps towards the end of the war . Some of them have Waffen stamps on the base . Hope this helps.
Does anyone have a similar example as mine? i am searching over the net and the closest come up is with the SD2 Butterfly...
should i just screw a ZZ om top ?
Rafail . They are not a rare item . When used as a grenade they had the BZE igniter . If used as mines or booby traps any of the normal German igniters like the ZZ42 will fit . Please post a picture when you have it restored .
Well, every fuse with M10x1 thread will fit on a SD 0.5 (even a J-Feder :tinysmile_twink_t2, but only few might have been halfway reasonable.
It was weak loaded with about 50gr. (half of a Bohrpatrone 28) and ist often falsely called 'paratrooper hand grenade'.
I've already seen them as auxiliary ap-mine in connection with an igniter plate of Glasmine 43 and Hebelzuender SM 4 on top, or as shown below, fitted with a DZ 35 B.
Interesting combination this one:
fixed with a mount of Alarmleuchtzeichen. Looks quite nice, but makes little sense.
Presumably in this particular case it's more a counterweight for the B-4 than a booby trap, just to keep the whole display in a safe stand.
Found these pics, also less reasonable, the latter with a ZDSCHNANZ 29 being simply nonsense.
