This was found on a German training are.

Does somebody know what it is, en what it is used for?

This is an East German (GDR) "DSA-Znder" for simulators. The top cap with the pull string and friction wire are missing since these parts come off when used.
Definately not WWII.

When you ask for ID of items found in Germany please specifiy the area.
