Thanks to everyone for the replies. I could not tell if the fuze cover was broken off or designed the way it appears in the photograph. I don't think there are enough markings left on it to sort out the exact model, but you all have certainly narrowed it down. Bob
I'm going for an L110A1, caught in a fire for whatever reason, as I wouldn't have thought a drill version would be outside the classroom. Would make more sense if it were an L111, following a forest fire in a training area, as are common.
L111 have safety clips also, but are bigger and the lever doesn't have the cover on it, and the neck is significantly wider than the L109 and L110. The bottom of the grenade seems to look like it has a hole in the bottom, but this may just be the pic.
