This item was reported as a UXO and was recovered in an area where there is oil and gas wells and farming. I don't believe it is from ordnance but i cannot positively identify it. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for the replies. It is certainly similar to the drain test plug. The arms on this one don't move or rotate so they can't be used to compress the seal. The protrusion from the top has a recess that goes around the circumference. Best we can guess is that some sort of clamp attaches to it and the clamp is secured to the pipe. Just a guess so far.
Item has been identified as part of the Mission Roughneck Valve and Seat used in pressure pumping. Thanks to everyone for helping to narrow the search.
