Another strange item. The brass device is made out of 2 parts and instead of a primer has something that looks like a pull type fuze.
It measures 60x192R72, is relatively heave and has thick 2 mm walls (outer case is 64 mm). I am not sure if it has been cut, I tend to think so but in a very nice way. Edge seems to be reworked to make it smooth, hence hard to say. I see no marks and the "primer hole" has a 12,6 mm width.
The "fuze" seems to be marked "I.E" or "J.E" and is 5 cm long.
In my references I do have a 60x192Rxx shell case for a 6 cm Schneider-Canet navy case, and a 57x192R72 Schneider-Canet 2-piece navy case (period unknown, but before WW1).....hard to believe this item to be such a Schneider-Canet case.
