I have this C239 container with maker mark "CC" on it. Does anyone know which maker this is please?

Most likely - Carron Company of Carron, Falkirk, Stirlingshire, Scotland, Ironfounders. 'Phone: 35, 36, 37 and 50. T/A: "Carronade, Falkirk".
Perhaps best known for their letterboxes, drain and manhole covers.

Possibly even better known for their Carronades - deadly weapon on our wooden walled ships. Short barrel, short range, large calibre - tremendous effect fired at the stern of an enemy warship! Depotman
