Unknown Panel

What is this RAF (??) window? I was told it's from a Lancaster, I don't think it is.

I was at a Militaria Fair in Liverpool and one of the "stands" had this panel and they couldn't identify it.

I think personally it's American, but he has some Pilots RAF papers and stuff that came with it?

The second picture is a more accurate picture colour wise.

Any ideas?

Hi skull181,I don't think it is from a Lancaster,I think it is an emergency exit panel, look very carefully to see if you can find any inspection stamps,or other mark stamped in to the metal,,ie,HP =Handley Page,NA =North American,AV=Avro,VACB = Vickers Armstrong Castle Bromwich, the inspection stamps are usualy inside a circle about 5mm dia, also, look carefully around the edge of the Plexiglas/Perspex,ground crews would scratch the serial/identity number of the aircraft on it so it could be replaced on the same aircraft after maintenance, any letters/numbers you find could lead to the identity of the type of aircraft if not the particular aircraft,(Maybe B25 Mitchell?)
Hope this helps,
Cheers,
Don,

The panel is not in my possession Don, when i had a look at it, i couldn't see any markings/stamps, other than a long etched number in the glass, very faint indeed.

Thanks for your reply mate.
