Unknown round (3-4in calibre) seen at Fort Rinella

Falcon

Well-Known Member
I saw this on display at fort Rinella in Malta. This was odd as it is much more modern than the fort. It appears to be around 3 to 4 inch calibre. The driving band inside the case is unusual. By the look of it, it is British. Does anyone know what it is?

Thanks for any info.

It's a British 3.7" Mark VI probert anti-aircraft round. What a shame the base of the case is rotting away!

Thanks for that. So it is a pretty rare one then. I wonder how much you would have to donate to convince them to part with it as it is not really related to the fort?
