Can anyone identify this brass container. It has only one mark on it which is “1.5”. I've had a couple of these for years (from a 'military' source) and have never seen anything like them before. TIA - Depotman
Many thanks - I put a strong magnifying glass on and can confirm there is NO 'dot' and the number "1" is actually a Roman "I". The rough cast surface has the letter and number cast in, not machined in after casting.
Thank-you - it certainly makes sense having two items that fit each other, but no room for any contents once the 'lid' is screwed in. Any other ideas?!
Looks more like a container for a glass lens or similar, and part of a set of various thickness/power etc. That would explain the mysterious 15 on the lid.
