Unkown shell casing marked Winchester what was it used for?

Hi all! Another shell casing I picked up is alittle bigger and taller than 37mm. It has Ord stamp on it and marked Winchester R Arms CO New Haven CT USA. Doesnt have any caliber markings. I'll post pictures later. I like to know how old is it and what it was used for.
