unusual 120mm tank shell

good afternoon everyone, I wonder if anyone can identify this 120mm tank shell. Apart from the 120mm TKIII markings, it is marked HE but is not a normal HE colour, has C.I.M and a white circle stencils - what do these represent? The drive band is segmented nylon.

There is a central rod which joins the base to the rest of the body

Any thoughts?

My thought is C.I.M. could mean inert projectile for a Classroom Instructional Mount to practice loading techniques before getting practice in an actual tank?
I have a 20Pr C.I.M. Drill cartridge in my collection. I am guessing with this 120mm? Is there a CIM for this gun? Ron.

I think you could be on the right track there Ron. The central rod would suggest a 'drill' of some sort. A good starting point for further info & research
