Unusual cartridge

Dear collectors,


I bought this very unusual cartridge case at a flea market. It is from a 20 mm gun, but the strange thing is that there are no markings at all on the base of the case.


Could anyone tell me more about it, and possibly provide a date? The case looks quite old and has a blue and red circle on the base.

20mm Vulcan M61 cannon case (a modern Gatling gun type weapon). They save sooo much money by not marking them in any way

When new they usually have inked markings on the side of the case.
Unless this has previously been polished, sometimes it's still visible once fired, try holding it at angle to the light.
