WW1 No36 all brass centre tube by the maker B&M Ltd. but with twin slots in the lower part of the threads to facilitate removal . Anyone seen this type before ?mvc-560s.jpgmvc-562s.jpg

I have 2 examples made by B&M Ltd one with the slots and one with out,,,, Dave

Mike,

Likewise, I know of examples with and without the slots.

As for B&M, most likely Bailey & Mackey Ltd, B'ham, manufacturing "Parts for hand grenades, 60-pdr shrapnel tubes. Zinc cups for mine horns. Ships' brass foundry. Brass base plugs for Mills hand grenades, also centre pieces for same."

And a couple of photos.
