As Rick said, they are Vietnam era 20 round mag pouches for M16 or M14, with attachment points for a grenade on each side. As you can see they are kind of bulky. The SEALs and Special Missions guys started using canteen pouches instead of these because they wouild hold more, and these didn't work for the newer 30 round magazines.
