Can anyone post any info on the Naval 76mm 62 cal round? I can find little here or the Internet. Did it use the 3" 50 projectile? Thanks in advance.
 
The 76.2mm 62 Cal projectile that was briefly used by the U.S. Navy was patterned after the original Italian design. It is not a standard design like the 3"50Cal. The design is similar to the 76mm HV round used in the Walker Bulldog, or the 3 inch 70 Cal. Most of the rotating band fits inside the case mouth, with a thin, larger diameter "shelf" that rests on the case mouth. This was an auto-loading round, which could be fired up to 120 rounds per minute. Look up 76.2mm Oto Malera:
