My oldest daughter ran the entire DC marathon on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in honour of her mother who also served in the Navy, she carried my wife's USN dog tags with her. My youngest daughter is pregnant so together with her Marine husband we endured being spectators which involved a LOT of walking since the police blocked most of access roads. So being a spectator is also physically taxing. There were about 30,000 people running, most were retired or active military, some carried flags and various posters. It was like a big party, and we had to wake up at 4am (04:00 European or American military time) to get to near Pentagon.
