does anyone know the purpose of this us teargas.

this is a model 5.G with number 115.
i allso had nr 111 , same model, but with smaller pressuretank.

It looks like a crowd control device for spraying powdered tear agent. There were a couple of different versions produced in the 50's and 60's.

There is some info on them in Swearengens' book.
