Variants of Vivien Bessier?

Hello everybody,

as a so far just reader, I have a question to the assembled collectors colleagues.

There are several variants of the French rifle grenade Vivien Bessier (or whatever that is correct, one finds several spellings in the literature).

* There is the bottom screw made of brass and of lead.
* I've seen the ring with thorn which serves as a striker made of brass and of steel.
* I know the cover for fuse and filling screw also made of brass and of steel.
* I've seen the bottom of the VB completely flat or with "Decorative Groove" around the edge.

Can you assign these variants to time periods? The VBs were used until 1940.

There was even a U.S. version.

Can someone please help me?

And please excuse my English, the english lessons at school were long ago ...

Greetings from Germany,

Sigges
