The head of the 14.5X114 shell case has a diameter of 26.9mm [1.058-inch] and the Berdan percussion primer used has a diameter of 9mm [0.354-inch]. ---> TOP-LEFT: Chinese raised headstamp markings showing "41" (State arsenal number) over "61" (year of manufacture - 1961); ---> TOP-RIGHT: Egyptian impressed headstamp markings showing at 12 o'clock position the "A.R.E." mark (Arabic Republic of Egypt), at 4/5 o'clock position the Arabic number "27" (Shoubra Company for Engineering Industries / Factory 27, Cairo, Egypt) and at 7/8 o'clock position the two digit date "78" (year of manufacture - 1978); ---> BOTTOM-LEFT: Russian raised headstamp markings showing "17" (Barnaul plant, Altai territory) over "58" (year of manufacture - 1958) with a star at 9 and 3 o'clock position; ---> BOTTOM-RIGHT: Romanian raised headstamp markings showing "21" (Cugir Arsenal, Transylvania) over "73" (year of manufacture - 1973).
