What caused this damage

Hi there
Im wondering if anyone has encountered marks like this on a cartridge. I suspect that they may have been caused by an electric welder electrode but I'm open to ideas. The case is an American 90mm AA by the way.

They might be poorly placed detonators intended to fire the primer to save an inert case. We did such thing back in the army.
